Eight Engines

Telling the story of Victorian Justice was an irresistible challenge that became a profoundly moving experience for everyone involved.

Filmed at Burnley Town Hall, this 20-minute period drama takes you to Victorian-era Canada, telling the powerful story of an escaped slave, arrested and imprisoned for killing a man during his escape.

We embraced the challenge of delivering the look and feel of a premium TV drama while navigating budget and time constraints - the entire 20-minute film was shot in a single day! 

It’s a project that we’re all really proud of, and we’re pleased to say that Victorian Justice is under consideration by a major Canadian broadcaster, positioning it for potential development into a full series.

Late but worth the wait! It’s been a busy couple of months at Eight Engines so how about a multiple monthly round up? Just a few of the exciting things going on:

⚙ We shot with Dunphy Construction Limited at their Macclesfield site celebrating their heritage and showing off their newly launched division.

🎭 We worked with wonderful Arden School of Theatre students to capture their end of year performances.

🚌 We interviewed our Mayor with Transport for Greater Manchester - keep your eyes peeled for our city’s new and shiny bright yellow buses!

⚽ We shot some fantastic footie fan content in one of our new favourite studios.

📺 We did a cheeky bit of EPK filming for an exciting new Manchester based TV series with Freemantle.

🛫 Some of the team jetted off to Berlin for some filming with our partners Tricks Studio.

🏥 The team updated their First Aid Qualifications in house with the Oliver Cookson Foundation.

🎶 We filmed at the beautiful Manchester Cathedral with Manchester Baroque Manchester Baroque.
