Back in the studio last night, first session for album number two!

Matt Steele on keys, Andrew Todd on drums and my old friend .houghton_aka_sneaky on the upright. Thanks to on sound.

This was a great opening session. Exploring a much jazzier improvised sound on this track. It’s really important for me to be in the studio with people I trust who will explore some out-of-pocket ideas.

Not sure how I’m going to document these recordings. For the last album I took about three pictures and one video. I like being in the moment with the music making and documenting it or having someone there to record, feels like it takes away from the process.

Winter update from me!

This month I have a remix of dropping from the brilliant . They’ve done a fantastic broken beat rework of Family featuring . I was approached by a lot of people who wanted to remix this track. There are a few “unofficial” remixes out there 👀 But Quiet Dawn really brought something unique to it and I love what they’ve done! The remix is out as part of the new comp, which is out now! Thanks to everyone who’s supported the remix so far including Kev Beadle, Agent J, DJ BobaFatt, Beanenoodler. Big thanks to Aly Gillani for featuring on Bandcamp Selects. An honor.

I’ve also contributed to two art installations, this month, composing original scores for works by longtime collaborators and one with for and Prism festival.

Onward!

It was a really beautiful project to work on. Thanks to Anna and Davi for trusting me with this project.

Tonight at the pop up in , I’ll be bringing together some of my favourite things - horror films, film scores and sound systems - as I step up to host a Rainy Heart Film Club Halloween Special.

The lineup will include the main feature plus a couple of short documentaries about its amazing sound and score all played through the amazing in house sound system.

Doors 6:30 pm. First film starts at 7:30pm. Free entry.

As usual, the film is a mystery but one posted some clues here.

Come and live deliciously.

Here you can listen to or buy my music, find out about upcoming gigs, and generally just see what I’m up to creatively. There’s a newsletter too, if you want to keep updated about live dates, releases, events etc…

I’m one of 1,000+ musicians who are jointly releasing this album today to protest the UK government’s planned changes to copyright law, which would hand the life’s work of the country’s musicians to AI companies for free.

It’s an album of recordings of empty studios, which is what will have if the government’s plans go ahead.
