A huge thanks to the wonderful staff and year 3 children at Tithe Barn Primary in Stockport for inviting me to do a Rocks and Fossils workshop last week. The children painted some amazing fossils!

Dinosaur news! Spinosaurus was the largest predator ever to walk on land. It lived 95 million years ago and was around 15m long (T rex was 12m). It has been suspected for some time that Spinosaurus was also a swimmer, and a new fossil discovery in Morocco confirms this. The tail bones had tall spines, meaning the tail was blade-like, resembling that of a newt, a clear adaptation for swimming. For more, read this fantastic National Geographic article:
