Moist Chocolate Pound Cake recipe

📝 Ingredients
• 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
• 1 ½ cups (300 g) sugar
• 4 large eggs (room temperature)
• 1 ¾ cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
• ½ cup (50 g) cocoa powder
• 1 tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ cup (120 ml) whole milk (room temperature)
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 100 g (about ½ cup) melted dark chocolate (optional but makes it richer)

📝 Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 175 °C (350 °F). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan or similar size.
2. In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another large bowl, cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
4. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
5. Mix in vanilla extract.
6. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beginning and ending with the dry.
7. Fold in melted dark chocolate (optional but adds moistness).
8. Pour batter into prepared pan. Smooth the top.
9. Bake 55–65 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
10. Cool in the pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. pc: collected
