In June 2020 we began recording known CO2e emissions savings to outwardly demonstrate the effectiveness of technology reuse as a catalyst for climate action.

Our combined efforts to extend the life of technology through refurbishment and reuse have resulted in the prevention of 1,987 tonnes of CO2e emissions, a significant environmental milestone that demonstrates the real-world impact of circular economy solutions towards Net Zero.

This achievement reflects the growing commitment of organisations to extend product lifecycles and embrace more sustainable technology practices.

By keeping technology in circulation for longer, IT donors are helping to reduce demand for new manufacturing, conserve valuable resources, and avoid unnecessary electronic waste.

Together, our donors are showing that environmental responsibility doesn't stop when a device reaches the end of its first use, it continues through refurbishment, reuse and circular thinking.

By advocating responsible tech practices, we’re reducing e-waste, protecting natural resources, and directly contributing to the Net Zero agenda in the UK.
