Alive Tuning

Here's a really nice Td5 130, thats come over to Alive from the Netherlands, for our awesome GTB450 tuning and turbo conversion.

This overland spec Defender had previously been remapped and had a hybrid turbo fitted, but the performance wasn't good enough to haul nearly three tons of Land Rover, and the smoke from the exhaust has horrendous! Just to make matters worse, its also had the final drive ratio changed in the transfer box, from 1.4:1 to 1.2:1, making the lag from the hybrid turbo even worse!

Join Martyn and Rob, as they initially take this out for a test drive, as presented to us, and then later on, after dyno tuning, to compare how the engine responds with the GTB450 installed.

It has to be said that the GTB450 thrives with extra load, whether that be a heavy vehicle, towing a heavy trailer, or even both, our incredible VNT turbo just laps it up in such a way that performance feels almost unaffected, compared to driving without the additional load! The fact this also has Discovery final drive ratios, is of no concern to the GTB450, as it just laps it up anyway.

We have proven time and time again, how the Alive GTB450 VNT turbo for the Td5, vastly out performs any other turbo available in terms of overall drivability and refinement. Dont just take our word for it though. Come and have a drive of our GTB450 equipped Defender Td5 110 to try before you buy.
