280,000 older people could be lifted out of poverty by increasing take-up of Pension Credit, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction.

Our new report shows how a take-up strategy could be transformative for the millions of pensioners missing out on their entitlements.

As well as supporting pensioners, increasing take-up could save up to £790 million a year across health and social care spending in England.

While a wider review of our social safety net is needed to stop older people falling through the cracks, a take-up strategy is an achievable step the UK Government can take towards making sure we can all live well in later life.
