Based Upon is an artist. Guided by twin brothers Ian and Richard Abell, Based Upon travels the world to gather narratives, memories, textures and histories. In the London studio, these grow into sculptural works which look at notions of oneness and separation, the natural and the manmade. January is, for many a time for a reset and reflection, and/or to hit the gym. ‘Rest’ is an artwork we conceived for flagship property in New York. A sculpture series that invites a different view of a dynamic world - we sought to find a visual expression for the concept of rest within a brand associated with physical activity and dynamic human movement.
