Congratulates to our Bromley Fire Officer Cadets, who in April received their new rank slides! We wish them the best of luck as they move on to the next step of their cadet journey.

Since we started Fire Cadets in 2013, over 750 young people have graduated. Cadets have gone on to achieve amazing things, including becoming firefighters and education officers here at London Fire Brigade!

Earlier this year we announced the completion of all 29 recommendations directed at London Fire Brigade from Phase 1 of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry. The introduction of new high-reach vehicles, including 64m Turntable Ladders (TLs) was part of that work Our 64m TLs are the tallest appliances in Europe - twice the height of our previous tallest appliance. They can reach greater heights to deliver water, get a better view of the incident and carry out rescues. They’re equipped with an on-board pump that helps push water to the head of the ladder, cameras at the top, and a lift! We know that there is still more to be done, but we are proud to have introduced these vehicles and to shown our commitment to making significant changes to the way that we operate.
