💬 👋 We'd love to start having more conversations with you all, and this week we'd like to start a conversation on the purpose of current systems of education.
People talk about 'broken systems' of education. Rather than being broken, we believe current systems of education are working in pursuit of the wrong goals.
🥅 What do you believe are the problematic goals of current systems of education?

👉️ Opus is a digital platform that delivers text message courses for deskless workers, and LearnJam has been working with them recently develop the learning design and content for some of those courses. 👈️

We also hear Rachael's take on what makes for effective SMS-based learning and why she thinks it's so valuable and important for deskless or frontline workers.

We are really excited to be taking part in the upcoming about designing for inclusion.
As learning designers, how might we better recognise and overcome our own biases so that we can create experiences that reflect, incorporate and celebrate the essence of what it means to be human?

Towards the end of 2020, we launched a new project with Innovate Uk into what more inclusive learning design looks like, or as we’ve been calling it, ILXD 🔥
We have realised that we can’t simply develop a tool or set of tools to make learning design more inclusive and accessible. We also need to take a long, hard look at ourselves, to reconsider and evaluate everything we do, and take concrete steps towards becoming a fairer, more diverse and inclusive organisation in all respects.
By attending to all three pieces of this puzzle, we hope not only to improve our work as learning designers but to improve ourselves as individuals and as a professional team 🙌
