Three people killed after shooting by two teenage suspects at mosque in San Diego, California 19/05/2026

The attack on the San Diego Islamic Center was a terror attack driven by anti‑Muslim hate.

Three innocent people were killed — including a security guard who died protecting worshippers — in an assault targeting a community at prayer.

This is part of a wider pattern: violent anti‑Muslim hatred is rising globally, fuelled by online extremism, polarisation, and the normalisation of Islamophobic narratives.

No mosque, no worshipper, no community should ever be left vulnerable to this level of violence.

Faith Associates continues to work with mosques and Islamic centres across the UK to strengthen security, safeguarding, and community resilience so that hate cannot escalate into harm.
