We’re looking for mainstream secondary state schools in England to help us by taking part in a national trial of the Learning Together for Mental Health Programme 🧠

Our friends at Place2Be are trialling a whole-school intervention to help young people thrive. It looks at academic outcomes, mental health, feelings of belonging and engagement for students, reducing bullying, and fostering a positive school climate.

You’ll be randomly assigned to either:

πŸ“Š The trial group, where your school will receive the intervention and Β£500 as a thank you
πŸ“Š The control group, where your school continues as normal and you receive Β£1,000

What are the expected benefits?

An earlier version of this programme in 40 secondary schools showed:
βœ“ Improved academic achievement and attendance
βœ“ Significant reduction in bullying
βœ“ Improved student mental health and wellbeing
βœ“ Improved school climate and student-staff relationships
βœ“ Reduced substance use

The programme puts relationships at the heart of school improvement. Through training, your staff will gain practical skills to:
βœ“ Prevent and resolve conflicts without relying on sanctions alone
βœ“ Create calmer, more productive classrooms where positive behaviour flourishes
βœ“ Reduce teacher burnout by providing effective relationship-based tools

Last week, we visited two fantastic schools in Rochdale and Birmingham with the Young BAFTA Roadshow! πŸŽ‰

Alongside introducing students to the exciting world of film, TV and games, our celebrity hosts Ben Shires and Shanequa Paris were inspired by the compassion and creativity of every pupil they met.

From asking insightful questions to sharing aspirations, the students we visited reminded us why it is important to continue creating space for young people to be heard and supported. πŸ’›

When a child is struggling, the whole family feels it. But with the right support, families can find hope again and children can thrive.

Through our 'Lifting Families, Changing Lives' appeal, we’re raising funds to support parents and carers alongside their children, because lasting change happens when families are supported together.

Our Family Practitioners work alongside parents and carers to rebuild confidence, strengthen relationships, and create brighter futures.

Will you help us bring that support to more families? 🌱
