PATAM would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the Institute of Vehicle Recovery on their new RQM card - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTNK31Q0dlU

Rather than take offence, we are flattered that they replicated the PATAM digital card identity system to record their training.

It is important to us that standards within the industry are raised, and customers are given a choice. By creating competition processes and procedures inevitably change and improve.

PATAM is built on supporting companies, and individuals and ALL training records from approved and accredited trainers are recognised.

Through our partnership with NTP, we offer the PATAM scheme free of charge when individuals have completed the Institute of the Motor Industry Roadside and Recovery Technicians course. The training has been independently quality assured by the IMI and an External Quality Assessor (EQA) to meet the National Occupational Standards for Roadside and Recovery, PA3 43 and contains all relevant information as per the SURVIVE Guide.

Modules include Validated Recognition Modules 1, 2 and 3 and the RoadsideSAFE Module (banksman, vehicle checks and vehicle loading), and can include 21-hours CPC.

In order to deliver the training, all instructors must have attended the L3 in Education and Training and NTP Consortium course. This training meets the IMI's stringent Assessors Qualification as per Ofqual regulations.

The course has been signed off at Level 3 by the IMI, and on completion of all three modules, delegates will be deemed as Roadside and Recovery Technicians and join the IMI as Associate Members (AMIMI) for a 3-year period. They will also be registered on the IMI Professional Register and get access to 5-online IMI EV Modules.

It is also great to see that individuals will now get access to their training certs from the IVR and they will not be charged for reprints. This is something we have campaigned for.

We are delighted that the IVR recognises the need for choice, and we look forward to assisting in raising standards throughout the industry: remember competition is good as this has proven -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZzfSh0BnDU&feature=youtu.be
