Line of Beauty
Young Masters People’s Choice Award Winners Exhibition
15 January – April 2026
The Exhibitionist Hotel, South Kensington, London

Line of Beauty, a not-for-profit Young Masters initiative celebrating the 2025 People’s Choice Award winners, First Prize winner Cristiana Schek and Second Prize winner Alexandra Baraitser.

The People’s Choice Award, generously sponsored by The Brownhill Insurance Group, is a particularly meaningful distinction, reflecting the direct support and admiration of the public as part of the jury process.

👉 opening reception: Thursday, 15 January, 6:30-9:00 PM.

Cristina Schek, a Transylvanian Surrealist working in digital montage, meets the chromatic, quietly heightened interiors and architectural paintings of Alexandra Baraitser, a Cambridge and London-based painter known for transforming designed objects into liminal, dreamlike still lifes.

Their distinct modes of image-making, one rooted in digital myth-making, the other in transformed still-life painting, unfold against a hotel steeped in cultural memory.

On instagram account 💥

The Kensington + Chelsea Art Week Public Art Trail is seen by one million visitors each week across many iconic locations across Kensington + Chelsea.

Every year, artists are invited to participate in an Open Call by aligning their proposals with the annual festival theme (to be revealed on October 17th) where submissions are encouraged to:

+ Pay homage to the area’s rich historical and artistic heritage, encompassing both ancient and modern influences.
+ Foster active engagement with the audience.
Evoke the festive and celebratory atmosphere of the event.
+ Maintain a positive, non-discriminatory, and non-political stance.
+ Promote inclusion and celebrate innovation and the possibility of making a positive impact on society.

We welcome artists at various stages of their professional careers; from local to national talents and those who have never previously exhibited their work in public. The Kensington + Chelsea Art Week expert team provides comprehensive support, covering installation, public liability, insurance, engineering approvals, safety inspections, council permissions, and associated expenses related to delivery, installation, display, publicity, and the secure return of artworks to the artist’s studio.

The final selection of participating artworks is curated by a rotating, esteemed Art Committee, ensuring fresh perspectives and diversity in the selections. For information on previous Art Committee members, please refer to our archives.

Stay tuned for the unveiling of this year’s selected artists HERE, daily from 1 May 💜💜💜💜
