News / Digital Streaming Platforms Have Agreed A New 15.35% Go-Forward Mechanical Royalty Rate With Publishers 🙌 A legal battle known as “Phonorecords IV” which sets the on-demand streaming mechanical rates in the US for the 5 years between 2023—2027 will no longer go ahead. Major streamers initially suggested the rate should be knocked down to 10.5%. The new rate will be phased in over the 5 year term 🤝 The upward rate momentum is a step in the right direction in creating sustainability around the futures of songwriters.
