Old maps are a fascinating part of our human history, spanning thousands of years. They have a special way of transporting us back in time to witness the emergence of the modern world. It’s like embarking on a journey through the perspectives of historians and cartographers, where they’ve captured their dreams and sketched out their ideas. These days, thanks to technology, we have access to impressively accurate images of our planet, and it’s easy to overlook the amazing journey that led us to this point.

As Kevin J. Brown said: “Ancient maps are a touching reminder that our knowledge and our perception of the world are abundant and limited at the same time.
