I’m 39, a graduate, yet living in my younger brother’s house. Mama sold our last land so I could go to school while he dropped out to start a business. Ten years later, he’s successful… and I’m still struggling.
Since mama died, I’ve been with him. But ever since he married, his wife only washes and irons his clothes—never mine. I’m his elder, yet treated like a burden in my own home.
Tell me, is she right or wrong? Should a wife respect her husband’s elder brother the same way she respects her husband?”

Siblings Hold American Returnee In Captivity In His House In Anambra
A real-life Nollywood story happened in a community in Anambra where the siblings of an American returnee, identified as Peter Mokwuah, reportedly held him prisoner in his own house for up to a year, during which he became emaciated and was waiting for death.
The story was shared by the daughter of the victim, Ifunanya Mokwuah, who had to fly back home to Nigeria to rescue his father.
According to Ifunanya, her father lived and worked in New York for 25 years and, upon retirement, decided to go back to his village where he had built a mansion for himself and his family.
All seemed to be well, and he was communicating regularly with his family back in the United States until he suddenly stopped around 2020.
Ifunanya said this was intriguing to her because, as the first daughter, she was very close to her father and could not imagine what could keep her father from calling her for months.
She said many of her calls to her father went unanswered, and when the calls were picked it was by her aunt, who would sometimes say she was cooking in the kitchen and her father was upstairs.
At other times, the aunt would tell her she was out of the house, but that Peter was well, and she would ask him to call her back when she got home. He never did.
After about six months of not hearing from her father directly, Ifunanya was worried stiff, not knowing if he was dead or alive. In a series of videos, wherein Ifunanya shared her testimony, she recalled how the Holy Spirit instructed her she had to visit Nigeria to save her dad, and she obeyed.
He said her dad could never be in need of money because he drew a monthly pension of $5000 (about N7.5m) and had a mansion and cars at his disposal. Upon that, she said she would often send money to him again, especially when they were not hearing from him, thinking that he probably ran out of cash.
Ifunanya said she asked for two weeks off at her place of work and travelled down to Nigeria in January 2022.
She spent part of the holiday in Lagos and proceeded to their village in Enugwu Ukwu, but realised that a truckload of sand had been dumped in front of her father’s gate, making it impossible for any vehicle to enter or depart. That was the first sign of trouble she noticed, but she saw more when she proceeded to climb over the sand and bang the gate.
According to her, her uncle and aunt came out and furiously demanded what she was doing in Nigeria.
“They threw sand on me and called me a pr******te, telling me to go away”, she recalled.
Ifunanya said she refused to leave and insisted on entering her father’s compound. She recalled that the commotion drew the attention of villagers and youths who demanded to know what was happening.
Upon convincing them that she was the first daughter of the owner of the compound, the villagers began to challenge the uncle, called Frances and the aunt, Josephine, asking why they were preventing a daughter from seeing her father.
The crowd reportedly attempted to beat Frances and Josephine for what they called an abomination, but were protected by the elders.
Ifunanya said they were able to enter and access the ground floor of the three-storey mansion her father built in the village.
At that point, Ifunanya said Josephine claimed her father had travelled to Abuja and put a call through to another brother of Peter who stayed in Abuja.
The brother, identified as Uncle Christopher, corroborated the claim that Peter was with him in Abuja, but he stepped out of the house and would call Ifunanya back.
Ifunanya said the Holy Spirit told her it was a lie and that her father was upstairs, and she then insisted that she would like to go upstairs to see her father’s room.
After some resistance, the youths forced their way in and led Ifunanya upstairs, where she found her father on a dirty mattress on the floor.
The legs were already skinny, and his beard and nails were very long and unkempt. Ifunanya said she broke down in tears to see her father in that state. According to her, her father recognised her instantly and was very happy to see her apparently thinking that finally salvation had arrived for him.

Popular single father opens up on the reasons for his separation from wife. She abandoned him to raise their three children alone.
🗣️"We generally had problems on several fronts. The first was the phone she used. She used to set a code. She set a code all the time, every moment. And even when she used her phone in my presence, she had this habit of always hiding it, interrupting conversations, or whispering into the phone.
Secondly, I had invited her to help me manage the house. As they say, a woman is a help to a man. So I told her, 'Here are the household expenses, I'd like you to contribute in your own way.' Choosing to pay for the water is a good thing. Saying you'll pay for the electricity is a good thing too. In short, I simply wanted her to have some input, so that everything wouldn't fall solely on me." But she flatly refused. She said it wasn't her job to do that, that it wasn't her role, and that she didn't have to.
Thirdly, and even fourthly, there was a deep disagreement about the children. Today, I'm the one who takes the trouble to take care of the children, and I do it naturally.
But I don't understand why I'm with a woman at home who's always on her phone, without ever really taking care of the children.
You see, when the children scream or play loudly, I'm the one who gets up to see what's wrong. When, normally, it's her job to do that too. But every time, I'm the one who has to leave work to run after the children. And she sits there, phone in hand, over and over again. Frankly, it's difficult.
It's this kind of thing that always caused arguments between us. That evening again, we argued. She insulted me, and I responded by throwing her back at her. She couldn't stand it. And the next morning, to my great surprise, she was already gone.
She had taken all her things without saying anything to me. I only realized it later, when I wanted to get something. I noticed her personal belongings were gone. I tried calling her two days later, but I realized she had blocked me. I contacted her family, but no one wanted to talk.
Yet these are valid reasons in my eyes. And meanwhile, there's a child, a newborn, who finds herself in very difficult circumstances, barely three months old. And yet, she, the mother, has been gone for five months. She abandoned her child like that, just because someone else promised her the earth elsewhere.
I can't build a relationship on that basis. I don't believe in that. And she showed me that clearly. Honestly, she had an attitude that I found very suspicious. It was difficult for me to trust her."

It wasn't meant to kl her; I only wanted her to have a miscarriage," a side chick confesses after she was caught for allegedly pœi_zunin her boyfriend's wife.
"I wanted her to lose the baby, not k-l her. The substance I put in the juice & oranges was meant to induce a miscarriage – nothing more!!
It happens that 5 months ago, the sidechk personally went to the wife of her boyfriend & confessed to her, pleading & begging for forgiveness for dating her husband, claiming she was unaware & had no clue that the guy was married with 2 kids. Mrs. Emmanuela, the man's wife, with her soft heart choosing mercy over malice, forgave her
She later begged for her friendship & she accepted. Mrs Emmanuela was 5 months pregnant at the time. The two got close after that, especially as Kassandra, the side chick, kept coming with gifts & acting all nice, Mrs. Emmanuela even considered her a confidante.
However, unsuspecting she started noticing changes in her body at 8 months pregnant; she kept complaining of severe pain under her stomach & constant fatigue. But she didn't take it serious thinking it was just baby hormones & symptoms. Unfortunately, it got severe at a point that she couldn't endure anymore; she suddenly fainted & was rushed to the hospital, still unconscious.
Doctors were baffled by her symptoms; it wasn't until a routine toxicology report revealed traces of a dãngerous sùbstance that the truth began to unravel while she was in K-øma. Investigations led back to Kassandra, who had been buying her juice & oranges during her visits weekly – supposedly gestures of friendship. Sadly, by this time, after 5 days in a k-øma, Mrs. Emanuela gave up, together with the baby in her womb. Kassandra was later tracked down by the pø- lice after being on the run for close to 2 weeks
In her confession, she had been trying for months to t'rmì_nête the b'by, but it wasn't working. And the substance she put in the juice & oranges when she usually visited was only meant to induce a miscarriage & probably t-rm-nte the prê,g- nãñ-cì, & nothing more. And now she begs for the family of Mrs. Emmanuela's forgiveness.
Very sad, she leaves behind, a lovely husband and 2 kids, age 5 and 3....

Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okereke Linus, shared her experience with living a quiet life.
I got married quietly in 2012. Just me and Linus in Paris. We wanted peace, and we’ve kept it that way ever since. My early life wasn’t easy. I learned that the less people know, the more peace you keep. That’s why I protect my home. My marriage, my family, our love—it’s ours alone. Only the people who truly love me—like my sibling and my mother-in-law—know the real me. We have two beautiful kids now. And in 2025, we marked 14 years together. This year, I felt it was time. I shared a little pre-wedding video for the first time. Just a soft reminder that when love is protected, it grows. It stays. It breathes. And it lasts. Protect your peace. Keep love sacred. Keep what matters safe.

"My wife and I have had many misunderstandings many times. I can remember on the day of our anniversary, we were supposed to go out but we had a misunderstanding. We were living in the same house and not talking to each other.
Immediately we went out, Blessing fáked like everything was okay. I was really moody and on my face it could show everything was not okay, but when I'm being asked what the problem is, she would quickly respond it's mood swings and that I was just being moody. She didn’t want anyone to know there was a problem.
While within me I wanted to spill everything out, I even wanted to drag her to the car and tell her let us stop pretending like everything is okay, but I just had to act along.
Blessing is that type of wife that every man would want to have. I never regretted choosing her despite our differences. Though she's older than me, she gives me respect fully, she's supportive and I appreciate that.” – Stan Nze.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Monalisa Chinda, gives her 2 cents why relationships are not what they used to be.
Relationships don’t have the same value they used to have?
Same way movies and music don’t have the value they once had?
Accessibility.
Years ago, you needed a CD to listen to music. You needed a DVD to watch a movie.
Now there’s Netflix, Spotify, Apple Music - and the fact that these things are all over and, to be honest, almost free...
Why would anyone care anymore?
Back then, you needed ₦300 to buy one DVD to watch one movie.
Now you can watch hundreds of movies on someone else's data. So of course, the value and the importance dropped.
When things are easy, they lose value.
In the past, you had to go out to meet girls and hustle for their number. Now there’s social media. You can now talk to thousands of girls.
There’s no stress anymore. You can chat with someone on a Thursday and slēēp with them by Sunday.
People now feel they can replace anyone at any time.
It’s crāzy. It’s easy, so the value seems to have gone out the window.
But then, be Wise enough to know that not everyone is replaceable.
Don't wait to learn the hārd way.
