With temperatures rising across the UK, it’s not just us feeling the heat - our dogs are at serious risk too.
Here’s what every dog owner needs to know 👇

🐶 Skip the midday walk
Early mornings or late evenings only. If it feels hot to you, it’s even hotter for them, and dogs are far more likely to suffer heat illness during exercise in warm weather.

🔥 Check the pavement
If you can’t hold your hand on it for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for paws - burns and injuries are common in heatwaves.

💧 Keep them cool & hydrated
Always make sure there’s shade and plenty of fresh water available, whether at home or out and about.

🚗 Never leave dogs in cars, even for a minute
Temperatures can soar in seconds and become deadly, even when it doesn’t feel that hot outside.

⚠️ Know the warning signs
Look out for heavy panting, drooling, wobbling, vomiting or collapsing – these can all signal heatstroke and need urgent action.

❤️ When in doubt, don’t go out
On really hot days, it’s safer to stay home and keep your dog cool with shade, water, and some indoor enrichment instead.

: A farm worker is facing jail after being filmed repeatedly kicking pigs and hitting them with a pitchfork 🐷💔.

This isn't just about one worker. It's about a system where intelligent, sentient animals are confined behind closed doors where their suffering often remains hidden.

Time and again, investigations into intensive pig farms have uncovered animals being kicked, beaten, neglected, and treated as commodities rather than living beings 💔.

📢 Police dismantle one of Vietnam’s largest cat theft networks.

Police in Ho Chi Minh City have dismantled a cat theft network that operated across southern Vietnam for nearly three years. Nine suspects have been detained, and more than 500 cats were seized, including around 400 found alive in cages at a storage depot in Tây Ninh Province, and 80 found dead.

The network allegedly trapped cats across multiple provinces, holding them until enough had been gathered to sell to buyers at roughly $2.6 per kilogram. Transactions reportedly took place every two to three days.

The bust came during a 45-day anti-crime campaign by HCM City police.

🚨 Authorities have also urged residents whose cats have gone missing to come forward and contact police.

Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to trace additional individuals involved in the operation.
