Cohort 2 of the Patchwork Programme!

Together, we’re on a mission to translate physical literacy philosophies into practice, create positive experiences, and help children and young people build a positive, meaningful, and lifelong relationship with movement.

Cohort 2 of the Patchwork Programme 2025/26 includes:

We can’t wait to support this transformational journey and see the ripples of impact grow across communities.

How do we prototype the future?
By making bold ideas tangible, co-designing and testing them with the very people they’re meant to serve.

A few weeks ago, we hosted Gathering 4 of the Patchwork Programme at the bringing together 12 brilliant, interdisciplinary teams to turn principles into real-world action.

The is part accelerator, part leadership journey. It’s rooted in the belief that our relationship with movement is shaped by a patchwork of people, places, cultures, and experiences.

People often ask, “What’s the one thing we can do to embed physical literacy?”
The honest answer? There isn’t just one thing. We need many, woven together with care across the system.

This gathering was all about doing, not just thinking. We used ’s DIBB framework (Data, Insight, Belief, Bet) to shape small, testable actions. We explored the power of aesthetic force, how storytelling and imagery can shift perspective, like the Earthrise photo that helped spark the environmental movement.

Teams brought early ideas to life through quick prototypes: sketches, props, mock-ups, and storyboards, which are now being tested with children and young people (CYP). These aren’t finished solutions. They’re invitations to CYP and system leaders to co-design, because real change starts when others can see, feel, and build on ideas.

Such great energy from everyone!
