Getting a flu jab may cut your risk of developing cardiovascular issues such as angina, stroke and heart attack risk.
Influenza (flu) has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular complications for many years.
New research conducted by the University of Toronto concluded that having a flu vaccination can not only protect you agains the flu but also cut your risk of developing cardiovascular issues.
“We found influenza vaccination protected significantly against heart attacks,” said the study’s lead author, UNSW Professor Raina MacIntyre, in a statement at the time.

The earlier the better! We recommend vaccinating your employees between September and December.
Flu transmission peaks from late December to early March and so having your workforce vaccinated in time for the winter months is ideal.
Early vaccination ensures that there is enough stock of the vaccine and allows time for antibodies to develop before your staff come into contact with the flu virus.
