At the start of each year, our teams work closely with clients to deliver their Annual Reviews, reflecting on achievements, identifying opportunities for improvement, and planning for continued success in the year ahead.

One standout example is McCann Ltd, who achieved exceptional results throughout 2025. By working collaboratively to optimise their waste management strategy, we helped increase sustainability performance while reducing costs across site operations♻️

Key achievements from 2025 included:
✅Increasing segregation rates to 86%
✅Achieving 99.9% diversion from landfill
✅Reaching a 98% recycling rate
✅Completing 22 site appraisals
✅Managing 27% of waste movements through our Site Buddy app

These results demonstrate how data-led insights, strong partnerships, and the right digital tools can drive measurable progress and support more sustainable operations 🤝

Giving Wooden Pallets Another Life: A Closed-Loop Solution to Pallet Recycling ♻️

Every year, around 20 million pallets are used across the UK. It used to be that these were then skipped or scrapped after just one use but there is now an increasing drive to adopt more environmentally responsible practices and reduce the impact of pallets.

Due to their material, pallets can either be recycled or reused, depending on their condition after use. Most of the wood used to make pallets is similar in quality to the lumber used to make furniture and other durable items. As a result, pallets can often be reused multiple times over in their intended form, with only minor refurbishment where necessary.

By extending the lifecycle of pallets through either repair or recycling, we can significantly reduce the demand for virgin wood. It also helps to lower carbon emissions associated with the entire process including such as logging, manufacturing and transportation.

Find out more on how we can help you recycle your pallets here: https://www.reconomyconnect.com/2026/05/07/giving-wooden-pallets-another-life-a-closed-loop-solution-to-pallet-recycling/
