It’s the blend of maritime climate, coastal terroir, and centuries-old winemaking traditions that makes these destinations so special. We’re convinced: wine tastes different when the sea is in sight.
This summer, we’re following the coast to explore some of Europe’s most iconic wine destinations: the truffle-rich hills of Istria, Sicily’s volcanic vineyards, and the clifftop wineries of Santorini.

✨ A must-do in Florence for wine lovers ✨
Hidden in plain sight, Florence’s wine windows (buchette del vino) date back to the 1500s, when these small arched openings allowed producers to sell directly to locals and circumvent merchant taxes.
Today, many of these historic gems have been lovingly restored, offering a charming glimpse into the city's past. You can still order a glass of wine (or an Aperol Spritz) through a number of these tiny medieval windows - just as Florentines did over 500 years ago.
Each wine window was individually crafted, meaning no two are exactly alike. Why not turn it into a pre-dinner 'wine window crawl' and discover a few along the way?
Simply ring the bell, place your order, and watch as your drink appears through the opening. For a true taste of Tuscan tradition, they're the perfect addition to any Italy itinerary and one of the most unique things to do in Florence 🍷🍇
