Severe sleep loss doesn’t just make you tired—your brain literally starts eating itself. 😱

A study in the Journal of Neuroscience found that prolonged sleep deprivation makes astrocytes begin breaking down healthy synapses, while microglial cells become hyperactive in patterns seen in early Alzheimer’s disease (Bellesi et al., 2017).

Bottom line: chronic sleep deprivation = long-term brain damage risk.

Try this exercise for your brain!🧠✨

When you practice this exercise you are activating both hemispheres of your brain through the corpus callosum. Bilateral coordination is a such an important exercise for the brain. Additionally, it also improves spatial awareness and neural processing!

Rules are as follows:
1. Warm up your fingers, and your wrists.
2. Then make a fist (thumb free) with one hand, and with the other hand point 4 fingers at the fist.
3. Then start to alternate back and forth.
4. Start by looking at your hands, as you improve try to look away! 👀
5. Try going the opposite way!
