I was reading Lachlan Brown's work, titled "Silicon Canal," on https://siliconcanals.com/author/lachlan/. Lachlan, who was detailing his personal experience on why we should act before it is too late, linked his experience to what was described by researcher Timothy Pychyl of Carleton University, who describes delay as chronic, highlighting it "as a self-inflicted wound that chips away at the most valuable resource in the world: time. And unlike most things that get spent, time doesn’t replenish. Nobody is keeping your unused time in an account for later."
Lachlan went on to say, "The version of the life I was waiting for permission to start has been available this whole time. I just kept telling myself the timing was off."
As a suggestion to us, Lachlan went on to argue that "the life you’re waiting to start is already passing." Hence, comparing this passage with the work of Bronnie Ware, a seasoned palliative nurse. I quote, "A few years ago I came across the work of Bronnie Ware, a palliative care nurse who spent years with people in the last weeks of their lives, recording what they said when there was nothing left to perform, and no version of the future left to plan for."
Like Lachlan, a stitch in time saves nine. If you believe in something, whether it is to woo a friend like what the male pigeon was doing in the video below, financial development or personal improvement, please start now!!
Walking in this winter garden, somewhere up north of Scotland, the land of the brave, got me thinking about money.
Nothing planted in this garden is accidental. Every plant, including cacti, is placed with intention. It’s watered consistently, protected and trimmed when necessary.
Financial success works the same way as wealth doesn’t grow because of hype.
It grows through habits, such as saving a little, investing wisely, cutting unnecessary spending, and allowing time to compound your effort.
Similar to wealth, you don’t rush a garden but nurture it.
If you treat your finances like this path, steady, intentional, disciplined, one day you’ll look back and realise you’ve built something beautiful.
Always remember that small steps are equal to long-term growth.
