Diff Rokka

I recently moved house, so I had to re-setup the studio. I moved some things around and also added the Arturia Microfreak to the synth lineup.

​Along with the new room, I’m changing my workflow a bit. I'm leaning much more into sampling and the electronic side of things.

最近引っ越しをしたので、スタジオを再セットアップしました。配置を少し変えて、シンセのラインナップにArturia Microfreakを追加しています。

新しい部屋に変わったのを機に、制作のワークフローも少し変えてみました。最近はサンプリングや、よりエレクトロニックなアプローチにかなり傾倒しています。

新年ということで、ベース弦を新しく試してみます。

これまで D’Addario のミディアムゲージ（50–120）を使っていましたが、4弦のサウンドにずっと満足できず、特にサステインが足りないと感じていました。

そこで今回は、Fender のテーパー巻き弦を試してみることに。テーパー弦は今回が初挑戦です。

Gotoh のブリッジにも、今までよりしっかりフィットしてくれて、サステインも良くなるはず。

ゲージは少し細くなるので、低音感は多少減るかもしれませんが、その分、明るさやパンチ感が出てくれることを期待しています。

さて、どんな音になるか楽しみです。

It's a new year, so I'm gonna try out some new bass strings.

Up until now I've been using D'addaroo medium gauge (50 - 120), but I've never been satisfied with the sound from the fourth string. It's always lacked sustain.

So I'm gonna try this taperwound set from Fender. It's my first time to try taper wound bass strings.

They should sit more snuggly in my Gotoh bridge and give a bit more sustain.

The gauge is a little lighter than before, so I might lose a bit of low end, but I should gain some brightness and punch. Let's see how it sounds.
