Huh! what? Say it again...👂🏼

Humans are constantly taking in information through their ears and filtering it to focus on what's important. Even though hearing is the first sense to develop, the auditory system doesn't fully develop until the age of 14 years.

What is it?
Auditory Perception is recognising, processing and giving meaning to what you hear. It is beyond simple listening skills. In a tele-conversation we tend to recognise the person's voice, understand what they're saying & give it a deeper meaning by picking up the tone in their voice even when the face is not visible to us. Auditory perception requires all these skills.

Why is it important?
To focus, to communicate, to be an efficient reader, & to maintain relationships.

How to build it at home?
⭐️Reduces background noise, ⭐️speak slower,
⭐️use strategies like chunking when talking,
⭐️play games that involve the auditory system like word chains, ⭐️copying rhythmic patterns like clapping beats, and
⭐️⭐️make music a part of your life.
