Local Pink

Cieli di Londra

Durante un recente viaggio alla ricerca della vecchia Roma, ho trovato qualcosa di assolutamente contemporaneo, e non parlo del MAXXI ma di una ex centrale elettrica, Centrale Montemartini.
Pensata come un'estensione dei Musei Capitolini, ormai stracolmi di antichità, questo open space carico di polvere, tubi e valvole diventa una splendida scenografia per i manufatti romani, improvvisamente così moderni, che brillano come lune piene in una notte nera.

During a recent trip in search of the old Rome, I found something absolutely contemporary, and it's not the MAXXI (which is really not my thing); it's a power station, Centrale Montemartini.
An extension of the Musei Capitolini, overpopulated with antiquities, this open space filled with dust, pipes and valves suddenly becomes a splendid vintage scenography for the Roman artifacts, which stand out like full moons in a black night.

It's magic when hints of colour wash away the infinite shades of grey from London's sky. I don't take it for granted, and it always surprises me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Like a child, I call him, 'Look, look how pink it is!'⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In a few minutes, it all twists and swirls and tears up and disappears as if it had never been.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
