Today is World Mental Health Day and this year’s theme is: Good mental health isn’t a constant

The aim is to reflect the unique challenges and uncertainties many are currently navigating and also acknowledges the pressures of the current times, whilst highlighting the importance of mental health and wellbeing.

We all go through difficult times and now more than ever, people are facing increasing pressures.

Poor mental health can affect anyone at anytime, and is often linked to traumatic experiences, money worries or stress. Trauma can take many shapes, and its impact is unique and personal.

Take 5 minutes today to reach out to someone you know who might be going through a hard time. It will brighten up their day.

For a squad whose preparation was disrupted before the tournament had even started, losing their opening game, the awful online abuse suffered by Jess Carter and coming through that penalty shootout against Sweden, we were left wondering what more could they possibly have left in the tank…but this team seems to thrive in the face of adversity and gets stronger. 💪

In 360 mins of knockout football, they led for less than 5 minutes, but even when they were behind, managed to stay in the game, get a last minute equaliser or even later winning goal.. always believing they could get something from the game.

Fantastic achievement to overcome so many obstacles and come away with the trophy, and all this despite their right back playing the entire tournament with a fractured Tibia!

Today is International Women’s Day and this year’s theme is “Accelerate Action” for gender equality. 🌎✨

According to the World Economic Forum, and rather alarmingly, at the current rate of progress it won’t be until 2158 that we reach full gender parity…. that’s 5 generations from now!!

Accelerate Action is a global call to acknowledge strategies, resources and activities that positively impact the advancement of women and to support and elevate their implementation.

It requires taking swift and decisive steps to address the systemic barriers and biases that women face in both personal and professional spheres, something which could not be more important than in today’s world. 🌷💪
