Last year at CW we developed our own all in one diary & journal. We believe this is an essential tool for people in prison, prison staff and people in the community to achieve and progress towards a positive future.

These booklets are now ready, in production and ready to be in hands of prisoners. Ready for the new year!

The booklet is made up of 2 sections, a week to view planner (non dated for zero wastage) and a reflective journal.

Over the years physical diaries and journals been a huge factor to our work flow coming from a prison setting to through the gate. A form of time management and scheduling which really hits home.

BENEFITS
- Time management, scheduling and timetabling, to efficiently use your time
- Planning purposeful activities in cell and out.
- Set goals, where progress can be monitored and kept on track to remain motivated, and purpose driven.
- Benefit mental health.
- Improve transferable literacy skills.
- Encourage reflection

Day 5 - National Literacy Trust
HMP Swaleside

To finish off our NLT collaboration delivery, we have come back to the Isle of Sheppey - HMP Swaleside. Which is right next door to HMP Elmley.

On reflection it has been great to enter the prisons in more of an educational capacity. Our workshop aim was to bring literacy and writing to the men in a practical way, such as timetabling, planning and journalling. Over the course of the sessions we saw some real breakthroughs and the eagerness was inspiring

A huge thank you to all the National Literacy Trust staff for arranging and managing the sessions, the experience has been great. We hope to work together more in the future.
