From Kitchens and Bathrooms to Counselling Rooms!

Today I received my official certificate, and I honestly can’t put into words what this journey has meant. This course hasn’t just given me a qualification, it has changed me in ways I never expected.

I want to give a massive thank you to everyone who supported me along the way:

Paulette and my family for believing in me long before I believed in myself.

My tutors, for your guidance, patience, and wisdom.

My peers and friends, for walking beside me through every assignment, every wobble, every breakthrough.

Karl my boss, for the conversations and the time away for placement and studys

And my placement supervisor, for helping me grow into the counsellor I’m becoming.

This course helped me understand why I became addicted, how trauma shaped me, and how those wounds showed up throughout my life. It’s given me awareness, compassion, and a level of self-understanding I didn’t know was possible. It’s also helped me see others more clearly, with empathy and without judgement.

Most importantly, it has helped me become a better parent, a better partner, and a better human being.

Second only to my sobriety, this has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. Getting sober was only the start. This, all of this growth, learning, unlearning, healing, is still just the beginning.

I’m proud of myself today. And I’m excited for what comes next.

The Helvellyn adventure ⛰️🏔

An early 5:30 AM start felt a little brutal, but it was worth every single minute. After a quick 30-minute drive to Thirlmere, I laced up my boots and started the climb.
​Four hours of hiking, and the views from the top were simply out of this world. The sun was so hot it was hard to believe I was in the Lakes, but the 360-degree panorama made me forget about everything. I stayed at the summit for as long as I could, just taking it all in, a truly breathtaking reward for the effort.

​After the descent, the heat was intense, so I did the most Scouse thing: I found a spot at the foot of the mountain and had a refreshing dip in the river. It was the perfect ice bath to soothe tired legs!

​The journey home began with a stop at Grasmere for a piece of their famous gingerbread. It was a nice end to the perfect solo trip 😌

Solo adventures hit differently! 🚐✨

My cup was full after an incredible off-grid escape to the breathtaking Lake District, all on my way to tackle one of its most iconic peaks: Helvellyn.

​The first stop was the serene and stunning Ullswater. Woke up to the most epic views right outside my self-built campervan door. Nothing beats that feeling of complete freedom and solitude. The air was crisp, the water was like glass, and every moment was pure magic.

​Spent my evening soaking in the quiet beauty and fueling up on delicious food that tasted even better surrounded by nature's masterpiece.

This trip was a powerful reminder of how amazing it is to connect with yourself and the world, all on your own terms.

Now, it's time to lace up the hiking boots! 🏞️
