From June 1, 2025, a new regulation in the UK dictates that all nursing and midwifery prescribers must conduct face-to-face consultations prior to prescribing non-surgical cosmetic medicines and then, once collected, arrange a further visit to administer the product , including anti-wrinkle injections and emergency kit items.
This means no more remote prescribing, like video or phone consultations, for these procedures by any clinician.

As a non-medical Nurse Prescriber, this has never been an issue at our clinic. However, some clinics have been offering Botox with remote prescriptions obtained from other clinicians, which means the patient may never have been seen 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞-𝐭𝐨-𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 by a qualified prescriber before the product is injected.

A full history, including medical history, allergies, and dosing, is unique to each individual. A proper, in-person, individualised treatment plan and consultation are essential to maintain your safety.

Please always ask to see your injector’s prescribing qualifications or make sure you are treated by a Nurse Prescriber, Doctor, Dentist, or Independent Prescribing Pharmacist.
