It's WellFest Week at AFG! π
This week we've been celebrating WellFest with our colleagues - a week dedicated to learning, mindfulness and connection.
Our Employee Experience team has put together a busy programme, supported by our brilliant external partners including Uno Mas Mindful Coaches and Full Potentials, to ensure there's something for everyone across AFG.
β¨ Live wellbeing webinars exploring the science of wellbeing and building healthy habits
π§ Guided mindfulness and meditation sessions
β An in-person wellbeing movement session, tea & coffee morning and time to connect with colleagues
π Competitions and prize draws throughout the week
π And today we're rounding everything off with Feel Good Friday, celebrating our amazing colleagues with one final prize draw!
We're proud to make these opportunities accessible to colleagues across AFG. Thank you to everyone who has taken part this week, to our fantastic Employee Experience team for bringing WellFest to life.

π Award Winners! π
We're incredibly proud to share that we've won the Excellence in Rehab and Reablement Award for our innovative Occupational Therapy-led Rehabilitation and Recovery Pathway Model across our independent mental health hospitals.
This award recognises the incredible impact of our Occupational Therapy-led approach to rehabilitation, with June Mercer, one of our dedicated Occupational Therapists, championing the pathways and helping embed this innovative model into practice to support people with complex mental health needs to regain independence, build confidence and achieve sustainable recovery.
By placing Occupational Therapy at the heart of rehabilitation, our structured, person-centred pathway model has led to a 57.8% increase in successful discharges over two years, helping more people move forward with their lives through meaningful occupation, reablement, community integration and innovative approaches such as Virtual Reality therapy.
Representing us at Friday's awards ceremony were June Mercer and our Director of Mental Health, Heather Etheridge, who proudly accepted the award on behalf of everyone involved in bringing this model to life.
A huge thank you to our incredible teams across our independent hospitals, whose compassion, expertise and commitment make outcomes like this possible every day. Most importantly, thank you to the people we support, who inspire us with their determination and recovery journeys.
This Learning Disability Awareness Week, we're celebrating people for who they are and all they do.
From bowling strikes, to scoring goals on the football pitch, tending gardens, playing bowls, learning new skills and enjoying the things they love - every individual has their own interests, talents and achievements β½ π³ π‘ π
Too often, people see the label before they see the person. This year's theme, "Do You See Me?", challenges us all to look beyond assumptions and recognise the whole person.
We're proud to celebrate the people we support, their passions, successes and the contributions they make every day.
