Massive shout to Julie, who not only organised the Leeds Marathon bus but also transformed it into a fully functioning mobile hospitality suite.

Snacks? Sorted.
Morale? Sky‑high.
Chaos? Managed.
Striders? Behaved… ish.

And while she was busy being our Bus Hostess Supreme, she’s also been quietly coaxing her running mojo back out of hiding.
It’s peeking round the corner now.
It’s happening.
We love to see it.

Kirsty was nominated for a shout our because she is the absolute heartbeat of our club. Not only did she smash her first ever marathon at Leeds - powering through every mile with that signature Strider grit - she somehow still found the time and energy to think of everyone else.

She put together goodie bags for every Strider runner and supporter at Leeds - with handmade striders deely boppers - making sure no one went home without a smile, a treat, and that warm feeling of being part of something special. That’s leadership you can feel.

And then, as if running 26.2 miles wasn’t enough, she stepped up on the spot on race morning and delivered an off‑the‑cuff, heartfelt speech to a race reporter about our wonderful club, why we show up, and what Striders truly stand for. No script. No prep. Just passion, pride, and pure authenticity.

Kirsty leads with heart, lifts others up, and embodies everything we love about this club.
