The first Impact Hub established in Scotland, Impact Hub Inverness is part of a global network of flexible co-working spaces and will serve the whole of the Highlands & Islands. Impact Hub Inverness is the first of its kind in Scotland and it has been established by the social enterprise support organisation HISEZ. The work of HISEZ will continue but we will now also be part of this global network

Congratulations to Ruth MacIsaac, winner of the Social Enterprise Award, supported by Silver Sponsors, at the 2026 UHI Business Competition!
Ruth, from Eriskay, is studying BA (Hons) Business and Management online with UHI North, West and Hebrides. Her business idea focused on creating a women-led social enterprise in South Uist focused on upcycling textiles and flexible community employment.
“Taking part in the competition was such a valuable experience. It was a great opportunity to develop my idea and get feedback from the judges who were all so encouraging and helpful, and I really enjoyed meeting the other finalists and hear about their innovative ideas. It’s given me a real confidence boost to keep moving forward with my idea.”
