Walked past Westminster Abbey the other day and had one of those unexpected “wait… is that still there?!” moments 👀

Back in May 2020, we produced and installed a large trompe l’oeil printed hoarding to cover ongoing works—designed to replicate the Abbey’s façade and soften the visual impact of the construction. At the time, we expected a lifespan of around 3–4 years max (which is pretty standard for outdoor print at this scale).

Well… it’s now been 6 years 😅

And honestly, it’s held up incredibly well. The colour is still strong, the detail still reads, and from a distance it continues to do exactly what it was designed to do—blend in and reduce the eyesore of the hoarding.

Up close, you can spot some weathering (no surprise after years of London rain and pollution), but overall it’s a great example of what high-quality materials, UV-stable inks, and careful production can achieve over time.

Funny how something designed not to be noticed ends up being worth noticing years later.
