Hi everyone. I am still waiting to be seen by a consultant for two new knees. However, I am not losing weight, and I would like to lose at least another stone before any operation, giving myself the best chance of a quick recovery.
Therfore, the last week, I increased my activity levels, and tonight, I went on a 2.21km walk. I haven't walked that far on my own and unaided in quite a while. I am pleased with my progress, and although I had to rest twice and am now reaching for the ibuprofen,it is still a very good walk.

As well as running I am walking and completing squats too.
500 squats since Tues and that didn't include any yesterday as I didn't have the energy after my short run 😀
Tonight Keith and I walked 4Km along the canal and tomorrow morning I will complete another run.

So a week ago I set myself a challenge of 10K in a week and this morning I did it!
I'm overweight and not run 10k since Feb 2018 when I did the London Winter Run.
I was 6mins down on my London time and I am overjoyed to have achieved this. What can I do with some training.
Some wlll say I was silly to do this but I have learnt that I can walk/run between 6.5 and 7Km before my knees begin to hurt and I can use this information to get better.
Running to get fit again.

So I'm challenging myself with thus virtual run 10K, but I haven't run any type of K in quite a while. I'm hoping this will get me back into running. It was an ambition of mine to run the NY Marathon next year for my 60th. Turned out my body had other ideas, with bad feet and knees and then the pandemic. So I am hoping this will encourage me to get fit once more.

Wow its been a while, June in-fact, since I last did a run/walk.
I didn't intend to run this evening and I'm not suitably dressed, being in black jeans and black short sleeved knitted top.
However I couldn't resist 3 x short bursts, counting to 100 just testing my knees.
Breathing settled down on 2nd and 3rd runs and knees feel good so far let's see what tomorrow brings.
Its good to feel sweaty again :)
Now off for a shower.

Out this evening for the first time since July 2019.
Very warm still and very hard but it felt great to be outdoors run/walk building myself back to fitness.
Rest day tomorrow then a 15min benchmark run on Thursday.
