Maker Maker

Thank you to all ofyou who have popped in over the last few months, its been wonderful seeing so many familiar faces from over many years of being Magdalen Road. We love this time of year because the shop looks so warm and cosy; like a hug on a cold winter day. I found a moment whilst closing up last night to take a few pics to show you inside.

We are open from 9am -6pm, Monday - Saturday and Christmas Eve 9am - 1pm ish.

We love colours and the shop is brimming with them. I managed to find a pocket of time and space to take a pic this afternoon and wondered what to do.... I don't think we've ever had so many cranberry, magneta or soft pinks in the shop. I've gathered up a few and here they are to bring to some warm cheer to your day.

We are super excited too because after nearly 14 years of searching we have finally found a pen befitting to our shop and everything we stand for. The indefinitely refillable writing pen - The Wren (as pictured) and also drawing pen - The Lumos & Lumos Duo. We have a fantastic selection of colourful pens, inks & gift sets by Tom's Studio. Let's bring back the craft of writing and do away with disposable and unrecycleable pens in the process!

They are back! Beautiful 12" Ivory and Red Advent candles for the season ahead. Many families share this tradition sending these to family or friends to connect and share the joy of lighting these daily and enjoying the countdown to Christmas together. We have a few new Advent calendars which are now out on display. As always, please DM me if you would like me to keep one back for you.

A change in the clocks, a change in the seasons, and a big change at Maker Maker! 14 years ago I made a shop canopy and it's stood the test of time and seen many changes along this road. Sadly over the last year its sprung a leak which is not repairable. It's been removed to be recovered and the shop looks slightly different from the top of the road, it's been wet we are unable to put our table outside at the moment but we are open as usual and are busy changing the inside for the season ahead.

It been a very long time since I've had a moment to spare but Ive been inspired to have a photographic creative burst. (We have a child studying photography and as I studied it also I think it's re-inspired helping set up some photo shots) So inspired by the 'colour of sunshine' and 'green grass' Here are some of the beautiful pieces in the shop at the moment. We are brimming after the Summer fair on the street a few weeks ago, it's has been great time to spot some of the new collections that we have in the shop.

Mimie & Louimax are leading the way; making the most of the glorious sunshine which arrived this week.... I'm sure we are looking forward to warmer weather. We are hoping to make the most of a few days away next week with our girls (hopefully the sunshine will be back!) We will be closed on Tues 7th and reopen on Sat 12th April.

P.S are a welcomed new addition to the shop and have plenty setting up camp under our tree, with more on the way!
