Fantastic evening at the launch of Exeter’s JUNE BOOM – a month-long celebration of arts, culture and creativity across a range of engaging and entertaining events in Exeter! This time it was for artist, art critic, writer and curator, Roger Fry, who was instrumental in bringing post-impressionism to England. Fry helped spark new ideas in art, design and culture — inspiring a fresh, modern way of looking at the world. His 1910–12 exhibitions in London, featuring Cézanne, Matisse and Van Gogh, were revolutionary, introducing a shocked British public to this bold new movement and helping to ignite the modernist era in Britain, forever changing the course of British art.

The exhibition, the first major show in more than 25 years, is open until 4 July 2026.
