It’s always great when you can mix fun with great learning at the same time. James and Priscilla met with a group from last week, and they certainly had that delivering our Resilience and Wellbeing workshop.

They covered why Resilience & Wellbeing matters in the workplace:
The workshop empowers employees to better manage daily challenges, unexpected setbacks, and the pressures of modern working life. When teams are equipped with the right tools, they don’t just survive — they thrive.

Some of the potential benefits include:
✅ Increased confidence and self-belief
✅ Improved stress management
✅ Stronger collaboration and morale
✅ Greater adaptability to change
✅ Reduced absenteeism and presenteeism

The result? A more resilient, engaged, and productive workforce with a renewed “can-do” mindset. Investing in wellbeing isn't just good for people — it's good for business 🤝

Stress is something we all experience and for some, it may stem from work deadlines or personal challenges, while for others, it could come from unexpected changes or family dynamics. Stress is a highly individual experience; therefore what feels overwhelming to one person might feel manageable to someone else.

Very often, when I work with companies, I find that participants in training react differently to each other’s examples of stress. One person might find a busy workday exhilarating, while another might feel completely overwhelmed by the same situation. This variation in perception means that stress is not one-size-fits-all—it depends on individual coping mechanisms, experiences, and thresholds. Understanding this variability is the first step toward managing stress in a way that works for you.

How to mitigate workplace stress:
🔹Acknowledge it: Recognize when you’re feeling overwhelmed and take steps to address it.
🔹Open Communication: Encourage open dialogue about stress and mental health. Employees should feel comfortable sharing when they’re feeling overwhelmed.
🔹Supportive Leadership: Managers can help reduce stress by offering support, setting clear expectations, and recognizing when employees need a break or reduced workload.
🔹Encourage Regular Breaks: Taking short breaks throughout the day can help employees recharge and improve focus.
🔹Promote Work-Life Balance: Encourage employees to set boundaries between work and personal life to prevent burnout.
🔹Mental Health Resources: Providing access to mental health support, whether through counselling services or stress management workshops, can help employees cope with pressure.
🔹Physical Wellbeing: Encourage physical activity and healthy habits, such as exercise and good nutrition, to combat the physical effects of stress.

Stress is inevitable, but it doesn’t have to be detrimental. By fostering a culture of awareness and support, organisations can help employees manage stress more effectively, leading to improved well-being, better productivity, and stronger team dynamics. What strategies have you found effective in managing stress at work?

Yesterday James and Priscilla were at Oxford Brookes with a group of employees delivering our Conflict Resolution workshop.

We know that conflict can arise in the workplace, this workshop offers vital skills that will help them tackle and manage difficult situations effectively. Conflict in the workplace can also lead to increased stress, burnout and poor mental health.

One of the topics we explored was what
makes up someone’s filter of how they see the world. With conflict, it’s always so important for participants to understand we all have a filter on how we see the world and different conflicts. Understanding this is key to understanding many conflicts and how to resolve them.

Other key topic we covered:
🔹 what conflict looks and sounds like in the workplace
🔹the art of being a good listener
🔹the importance of seeing conflict from others’ perspectives
🔹 hints and tips for dealing with conflict
🔹communication error(s) many make and how it intensifies conflict

Thank you so much to Abigail Reilly for organising and to the group for bringing a great energy, excellence participation and for agreeing to join our post workshop selfie! 😆👏

Priscilla and James met with the team from during Mental Health Awareness week in Barbican, London - delivering our Mental Health and Wellbeing workshop for managers and employees.

Really enjoyable and productive day exploring some key topics such as:
🔹 the difference between mental health and mental illness
🔹stigmas around mental health
🔹identifying and understanding triggers
🔹burnout and stress

Effective ways this workshop promotes workplace wellbeing:
💚 positive education teaches employees how to spot the ‘hidden’ issues
💚gain confidence navigating conversations around Mental Health
💚learn ways to deal with and support those going through stress and burnout

It is great to see employees and managers committed to enhancing their skills to support each other in the workplace, especially with the knowledge that poor mental health can negatively impact or hinder participation in employment; and that an estimate of 15% UK workers have an existing mental health condition. This is evidence that companies should be advocating for strong and effective support in the workplace.

Our travels continue tomorrow as we’re meeting with a group of employees from Oxford Brookes University! 🎓📚
