Tony has been riding bikes since the age of two, scaring the hee-bee-gee-bee's out of his mum & dad

whilst bombing down the hill outside the house. Tony set up evolve mtb in May 2008, after having a lighbulb moment on a chairlift in the French Alps. At the time he was an Area Youth Worker for Devon County Council, part of this role was to take young people out on bikes during school holidays. See

How difficult is the River Dart Enduro?

A commonly asked question, so here is an answer. On paper all of our stages would be classed as red trails with some black portions on the steeper sections. Now due to the constant onslaught of rain, it does add another element of technicality to the trails. Expect them to soft, slippy and probably quite rutty.

There is not a huge amount of jumps and drops on our course but on the ones we do have everything is either rollable or have a safer B line.

Distance wise you are looking at 9 miles with 1700ft of climbing for a lap. So doing the hard math you’re looking at a total day of 18 miles and 3400ft of climbing. This will be a practice lap in the morning and race lap in the afternoon.

Any other questions just drop me a DM.

Do you know where you can cycle on the moor?

According to the Dartmoor Commons Act people can access the moor by foot or horseback, however access via cycle is different.

Cycle access is set to follow designated cycle tracks, bridleways, byways and the road network.

Outside of these routes cycling is not permitted. That all said, the Ranger team alongside our recreation team are looking to expand cycle access with permitted routes thanks to land owner permission. This isn’t a quick process and takes a lot of time and energy, please bear with us.

Until then be moor wise on how you enjoy Dartmoor.
