The Historic Guildhall has stood on this site since the 12th century. Long before it was an events venue, it was the beating heart of Exeter - welcoming kings, electing mayors, and even serving as a historic court and prison.
Today it’s still a proud, working civic building, keeping centuries of tradition alive.

The Great Hall offers a truly breathtaking setting, with magnificent oak panelling and a soaring ceiling that creates the perfect balance of elegance and heritage. Accommodating up to 80 guests, it’s an exceptional space for sharing your wedding day with family and friends in a grand yet welcoming atmosphere.

For a more intimate celebration, discover The Jury Room. Rich in history and character, this remarkable space once safeguarded the city’s records before becoming the room where juries deliberated court cases, the last of which took place in 1971.
Today, its stunning Victorian interior, adorned with classical paintings of former dignitaries and influential figures, provides an enchanting backdrop for smaller wedding celebrations. With space for up to 35 guests, it’s the perfect setting for a romantic and personal occasion.
