🌊 Supporting St Luke’s Guiding Lights 🌊
Our Provincial Grand Master, Nicholas Ball, recently visited “Plymouth Sound”, the lighthouse sponsored by Devonshire Freemasons as part of the St Luke’s Hospice Guiding Lights trail.
Created by local artist Henry Sells, Plymouth Sound celebrates the beauty of our coastline while symbolising hope, guidance and the support that St Luke’s Hospice provides to patients and families across our community.
Supporting St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth reflects our continuing commitment to the Devon hospices and the extraordinary work they do every day. Freemasonry is founded on kindness, compassion and service, and we are proud to help support an organisation whose care brings comfort and dignity to so many people when it matters most.
If you’re following the Guiding Lights trail, be sure to visit Plymouth Sound, scan the app code to discover more about the artwork, and support this fantastic cause.
💙 Every lighthouse tells a story. Ours is one of community, compassion and a shared commitment to helping others.
On Saturday, we welcomed 500 people to Sandy Park, home of the Exeter Chiefs, for our annual Summer Ball.
The event has quickly become the highlight of the Provincial Calendar, and the Provincial Grand Master Nicholas Ball took delight in welcoming everybody to the event once more.
Following a delicious 4-course meal we were entertained by a top class set of performers.
The Provincial social events are just one aspect that makes Freemasonry so fun and enjoyable, while also doing good in our community. Keep an eye out for future events, including our Summer Fun Day on Sunday 30th August in Ivybridge.
Huge thanks to David, Steve and Alan for organising this event and for Alec for capturing it for us.

At Devonshire Freemasons, we are proud to stand alongside the men and women who serve, or have served, in our Armed Forces, as well as their families and the wider Armed Forces community.
By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we have made a public commitment to ensure that no member of the Armed Forces community faces disadvantage because of their service. It’s a promise to recognise the unique contribution made by serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadet force adult volunteers and military families, and to support them wherever we can.
Our commitment goes beyond words. We as Freemasons are honoured to have been recognised as a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award holder – the highest level of recognition available. This reflects our active support for reservists, veterans and the wider Armed Forces community, our advocacy for the Covenant, and our determination to lead by example.
Freemasonry has long shared values that resonate strongly with those of the Armed Forces: integrity, service, loyalty and supporting one another through life’s challenges. We are proud to continue that tradition and to play our part in ensuring those who have served our nation receive the respect, opportunities and support they deserve.
