This International Paramedics Day, we're celebrating the compassion, skill and dedication of paramedics everywhere.

More specifically, we're shining a light on the vital role our palliative paramedics Patch (pictured below) and Sonia play within our rapid response team, providing specialist support to patients experiencing acute symptoms or whose health is rapidly deteriorating. 🚑

From helping someone stay comfortable at home, to ensuring a person's final wishes are respected, our paramedics bring kindness and expert care into some of life's most challenging moments.

Chef Manager Lil and the fabulous Catering Team at Searle House care for so many people every single day, preparing fresh meals for our ward patients, supporting families spending precious time together and keeping our amazing staff and volunteers fuelled for a day’s work. 🍽️

They don't even mind (too much!) when we ask them to smile for the cameras. 📸

Food brings comfort, creates moments of normality, and shows people they are cared for. 💙

Whether it's remembering someone's favourite pudding, offering a cuppa at just the right moment, or serving every meal with compassion and a smile, Lil, Sajith, Julie (pictured L:R) and the whole team make a difference in countless ways.

On Sunday 27 September, 500 runners will take on this brand-new trail race across Dartmoor, and we need friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help make the day a success.

Whether you're helping with directions or supporting at key points along the route, you'll play a vital role in this exciting new event while supporting your local hospice.

Plus, general entries may be gone, but there are still a limited number of fundraising places available if you'd like to ‘beat the beast’.
