🔥

Throwback to a few weekends ago… we had a total of 13 competitors made up of white and blue belt quintet teams as well as some of our purple belts in single matches 🙌

The white belts came away with a hard fought 3rd place, with the blues missing out on the same spot due to a DQ in the decider, in true CF fashion. The purple belts were well matched too, each closely contested and coming away with a decision win, a submission loss and a loss on points 💪

A great day with some truly knockout performances… 😅

Good day 🇬🇧

3 competitors coming away with 4 medals 🥈🥈🥉🥉

Straight final for in a closely fought match, missing out on the top spot by the narrowest of margins. Few tweaks and he’ll be back in the win column.

5 submissions from 6 matches for , even if one of those did get him disqualified in the semi-final, having to settle for double bronze in his weight class and the open weight absolute. Lessons learnt and on to the next one.

secured silver the adult brown belt division, winning his first match in textbook style but coming up short in the final. Great showing for his first brown belt tournament!

All in all a solid day for the club, competing on one of the biggest stages of the year 🔥

Double Gold at Devon Open

We had two of our white belts step up today — Kyle and Cam — both competing in Gi and No-Gi.

Kyle had two absolute wars, losing out by the narrowest of points in both divisions. Great composure, solid technique — proper effort from start to finish.

Then there’s Cam… who decided the best way to prepare for competition was to stay up all night with his new female companion, fuel himself on mince pies and Monster energy, and still come in like a raging bull to take two points wins and two Americana subs — double gold.

Somehow the chaos works for him.

Huge shoutout to Coach Doug for cornering the lads and keeping them in line (well… trying to).
