Endometriosis isn’t something that’s “fixed” with surgery unfortunately❤️‍🩹. It’s a chronic condition that has to be managed every single day through lifestyle, diet, exercise, stress management 🌀, and ongoing medical care. There is currently no cure, and for many people, symptoms return years after surgery.

This morning I had one of the worst flare-ups I’ve experienced in a long time. For around 30-40 minutes, my body completely shut down. I was in excruciating pain, drenched in sweat, my blood pressure dropped (as I have a blood pressure kit that I got when I was having these episodes a lot) , and I ended up passing out. I also lost control of my bowels. It’s believed that severe pain can trigger a vasovagal response, causing your body to faint and completely shut down, but experiencing it is terrifying. I’ve even had similar episodes triggered by pain during in*******se around certain times in my cycle.

People often think endometriosis is “just bad period pain.” It isn’t. It can affect your bowels, bladder, nerves, organs, fertility, relationships, work, and every aspect of daily life.

I had surgery about five years ago, and it’s hard not to wonder if my symptoms are returning. Endometriosis can recur after surgery for many people, and when the flare-ups begin again, your mind starts asking questions. Is it back? Is it affecting my bowel? Living with that uncertainty is exhausting. 😵‍💫😞

I’m sharing this because too many people are still told their pain is normal or that they’re exaggerating. They’re not. Endometriosis is real, debilitating, and deserves to be taken seriously.

To everyone living with it, you’re not alone. ❤️‍🩹

One might say I was out of breath 😅❤️‍🔥💪🏼💦

This 4k was a sprint (for me) 5.40 kilometres.

I’m running a lot at the moment because I’m not gonna be able to run for quite some time after surgery which is in less than three weeks. So I’m making the most out of running cause I’m going to miss it for a while. 🏃🏼‍♀️

Without surgery, prehab it took me around 4 to 5 months to be running again. Let’s see how long it takes post surgery rehab 🙏🏼❤️‍🔥💪🏼🦵
