A quick glimpse into what some of our retrainers have been up to over the last couple of days!

🐴 Goldie headed out hacking solo.
🐴 Leo had a go around a course of jumps.
🐴 Sugar enjoyed his very first lunge session.

All three were super well-behaved and are having a fantastic time in their retraining journeys. We’re so proud of their progress! ✨🐎💙💛

Remy’s first two weeks in work 🐴✨

The focus with Remy so far hasn’t been about rushing into ridden work — it’s been about building a strong foundation, both physically and mentally, for the rest of his journey.

After having some time out of work, taking things slowly is key. Building the correct strength and muscle before introducing a rider is so important, giving him the best chance to develop properly and comfortably.

So far his workload has included:
✨ Long lining in the school to help establish a correct way of going and introduce him to working into a contact
✨ Long lining out hacking, exploring different routes and experiencing lots of new sights and situations — which he’s been incredibly relaxed about
✨ Pessoa work in the school to help engage his core and strengthen the correct muscle groups

Remy naturally carries his head quite high and tends to overuse the muscles underneath his neck, which can lead to a hollow back and incorrect muscle development. Since arriving from Hong Kong, he’s already made huge improvements with his posture and way of going.

He’s now carrying himself in a much more natural position around the yard and in the stable, with simple changes like eating from the floor and learning to relax already making a difference.

As he continues to understand his work, this way of moving is slowly becoming more natural for him — and we’re already so pleased with the progress he’s making 💛

Only two weeks in and he’s already making us proud ✨
