Life on a volcanic Island.

Looking down through the roots of a tree above one of the waterfalls at Stick Ghyll in the Lake District. I liked the unusual alignment with roots suspended in the air at the edge of this rock and the early autumn leaves (October 2025).

Bright summer sunlight in my local woodland. It’s not easy to get good images in the bright sun. The path helps to isolate the oak tree from the complexity of the background and the challenging light.
