Impro Slam
On the 15th of August at 8.30 pm, the Edinburgh International Book Festival will stage Impro Slam - Packing a Punch with Poetry, an improvisational poetry slam which features spontaneous text creation live on stage. This innovative event challenges four poetry slammers to compete for the audience's favour.

She's outrageous and wild

To get you in the mood for Wednesday, here comes the first of four poems about our slammers:
Adam is a poet who began as a rapper
he is average-sized but as a child he was fatter
he's not very good at lad-banter
because he doesn't like being mean, 'na'mean?'

//Catherine Brogan started at the age of 6, winning gold medals for saying (other people’s) poems at the Feis in her home town of Omagh, Northern Ireland. She set up a poetry night, got into hip hop and MC´ing when studying in York. She has been supporting Scroobius Pip vs. Dan le Sac and Skinny Man. She’s been described as a witty and funny stand-out performer, and is now heading from London to Edinburgh to go off on stage like a firew
