Our project in Brechin takes its cue from the pitched roof forms of the existing buildings, which enclose the new gabled volume of the courtyard extension. The new intervention will act as a lightweight counterpart to the enclosing solid masonry buildings, with an economical timber structure exposed internally and generous glazing to its gable end allowing enhanced connection to the rear garden.

Our Todlaw Supported Housing looking sharp when we revisited earlier this year. Together with a central services facility, these 14 fully-accessible dwellings were the first care home in Scotland to be based on a housing model rather than traditional institutional care provision, and offer a greater degree of independence and autonomy for their occupants. We love to see how our buildings stand the test of time - here the larch cladding has weathered beautifully, while the pitched roofs have provided the perfect location for some new solar panels.
