🎒 Starting School This August? You Could Be Entitled to £331.95 per Child!

As many of our preschool children prepare for their exciting transition to Primary 1, we wanted to make families aware of financial support that may be available.

The Scottish Government's Best Start Grant School Age Payment provides a one-off payment of £331.95 per child to help with the costs of starting school, such as uniforms, shoes, stationery, school bags, lunch boxes, or anything else your family may need.

✅ Who can apply?

Families with children born between 1 March 2021 and 28 February 2022
Families receiving certain qualifying benefits, including Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, Income Support, Pension Credit, income-based JSA or income-related ESA.

✅ Important to know

You do not need to wait until your child starts school to apply.
Families who are deferring their child's school start can still be eligible.
If you already receive Scottish Child Payment, you may receive this payment automatically and may not need to apply.

📅 Applications are open now and close on 28 February 2027.

As we head into these final months with our older preschoolers, graduation season has officially begun at Chapter One 💚🎓

This time of year always brings such a mixture of pride, excitement and emotion for our teams. Some of our graduates joined us as tiny babies at just 6 months old, and now here they are preparing to begin the second chapter of their journey at school.

So how do we know graduation season has arrived?

The answer is simple… our little Chapter One graduation bears have arrived 🧸

Each tiny bear waits patiently to celebrate alongside every single graduate at their own special ceremony.

No two graduations are ever the same at Chapter One. Some ceremonies take place in beautiful gardens, some in churches, and some beneath the canopy of trees in the woods, each one thoughtfully created to reflect the unique environment and personality of its nursery.

What never changes is how incredibly proud we are of every child taking this next step.
